The car-sharing industry in Germany is currently experiencing an enormous upswing. Over 5.5 million Germans are now registered with a car-sharing provider - a new record! According to the latest annual report from the German Car Sharing Association (BCS), there are currently 43,110 vehicles available. This represents an impressive increase of 27% compared to the previous year. The number of registered users has also risen by 23%.
A particularly pleasing trend in the car-sharing industry is the increasing number of electric vehicles. 17.8% of car-sharing vehicles in Germany are electric to date, which shows that the transition to sustainable mobility is in full swing, even if there is still room for improvement.
